About us

Migrateful is an award-winning charity which supports refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants on their journey to employment and independence and works to foster a more welcoming environment for migrants in the UK.

We do this by running cookery classes where migrant chefs share their traditional cuisine, culture and stories with the general public.

The idea was borne following Founder Jess’ discussions with a group of refugee women at a skill exchange project in Tower Hamlets.

The women in the group were all very qualified, yet were unemployed because of legal and linguistic barriers and their qualifications not being recognised in the UK. When asked about the skills they could share with the group, many of them said they could cook.

This gave Jess the idea to launch Migrateful in July 2017; with the aim to get these women into employment by supporting them to share their incredible cooking skills with the world.

All profits go directly to the Migrateful charity, funding our chef training programme.

Our Impact

We measure our global impact every year through our Global Impact Report which surveys both our staff and our clients to get their direct feedback on our impact as seen through our impact framework which looks at the impact we have on: individuals, organisations and society.
