The New Humanitarian works with Bliss
Redesign and Redevelop
The New Humanitarian is a UN-affiliated news outlet, entirely focussed on humanitarian and human rights stories .As they became independent from the United Nations, we were asked to redesign and redevelop their website so they can aggressively grow their international readership and generate new revenue streams.
We created their new site in Drupal, migrating over 83,000 articles and 250,000 content items in 4 languages from their antiquated database into a new and future-proofed format. All whilst maintaining their superb search engine profile.
As part of the redesign, we wanted to increase readership and understanding by giving each story a context. To achieve this, we gave TNH the ability to build narratives by associating articles, as well as providing different templates to build more immersive investigations.
10 years later, we’re still a retained partner of TNH. We redesigned the site more recently to improve user experience, and rebuild its infrastructure from the ground up to facilitate future growth.
