What we provide
We work with businesses who are keen to support mums in the South West back into the workplace via a meaningful work placement over a 4 week period. The mums we work with may be looking for a career change or more usually have been out of the workplace for at least a year. They may have faced challenges including domestic abuse, lone parenting, children with SEN or home displacement.
The primary outcomes for every participant at the Women's Work Lab are for them to leave being closer to work and with improved confidence & mental wellbeing. The work placement offers vital current work experience for our participants and gives them concrete skills that they can talk about in job interviews. We believe that with good planning and buy-in from across your organisation, our women will thrive.
Sectors we’ve worked in
About us
We know there is a hidden, talented, multiskilled workforce in our society that is being overlooked and underutilised. Our role is to professionally develop these ambitious women and empower them to shine.
Our programme is powerful. It was designed by women who understand business and motherhood, and have the expertise that know what is needed for the two to work harmoniously.
We train our women in a dynamic, stimulating, safe and encouraging environment that helps them to rediscover themselves, identify skills and barriers while building professional fortitude.
It’s more than theory, they make their mark undertaking a four week work placement, getting valuable experience and building their confidence. The women that complete our programme not only bring diverse perspectives and experiences that are important for business success, they are fully prepared and ready to excel in their chosen career.
Our Social Mission
Our vision is to create space and support for ALL Mums in the UK - irrespective of their past - to recognise their brilliance and build a financially secure future for themselves and their children. We believe no-one should ever feel excluded or forgotten in realising their potential.
